Restaurant Manager Wanted

We’re looking for a passionate and driven hospitality professional who thrives on delivering exceptional service and creating memorable guest experiences.

As Restaurant Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the success and growth of the venue, with a strong focus on leading the restaurant offering through outstanding service, innovative promotions, events, and customer engagement. Reporting to the Venue Manager, you’ll help inspire the team, build the venue’s profile within the community, and ensure every guest leaves wanting to return.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who brings energy, creativity, and strong leadership to hospitality, and who enjoys building genuine connections with both customers and team members. You’ll also be joining a purpose-led organisation that proudly reinvests back into the local community.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a small but dedicated team during busy service periods
  • Ensure all bookings and function enquiries are managed promptly and professionally
  • In conjunction with the Head Chef and Manager, ensure menus remain fresh, relevant, and aligned with customer expectations.
  • Plan and develop future events and functions to drive patronage and revenue growth
  • Maintain and grow the venue’s social media presence and customer engagement
  • Oversee stocktaking, ordering, and inventory management processes
  • Support high service standards across restaurant operations
  • Attend regular management meetings and contribute to strategic planning
  • Ensure adherence to the SSLA and that all relevant staff training is completed and kept up to date.
  • Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture.
  • Assist the Venue Manager in the successful day-to-day operation of the venue

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven hospitality leadership experience in a fast-paced environment
  • A passion for food, beverage, and delivering memorable guest experiences
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A positive, hands-on, and professional approach
  • Experience with promotions, customer engagement, and venue marketing
  • Confidence using booking systems and social media platforms
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to work collaboratively and support a high-performing team
  • A genuine passion for people, hospitality, and community

A General Manager’s Certificate would be an advantage; however, we welcome candidates who are willing and able to obtain one.

If you’re ready to bring energy, leadership, and fresh ideas to one of Invercargill’s leading restaurants, we’d love to hear from you.

Confidential enquiries can be made to Kelly Burgess - Kelly@ilt.co.nz

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand.

Applications close on 19th June 2026, however we may close the role sooner if a suitable candidate is found.
