ILT operates 23 businesses across Invercargill. It employs around 650 staff and has a rich heritage of investing in leading edge hospitality facilities and funding significant community projects through its distribution of profits to over 400 community organisations each year. 

The Ascot Park Hotel is a 4-star Qualmark rated hotel with 116 accommodation rooms, extensive conference facilities for up to 650 people, an indoor heated swimming pool, spa, saunas, fitness area, an impressive in-house bar and award-winning restaurant, sports bar and gaming lounge. The Ascot is renowned for its hospitality and high-quality catering, both in-house and out-catering. 

Responsibilities

  • Full responsibility for the profitable operation of the Hotel.
  • Inspire the team to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Confidently communicate the vision for the Hotel, guide and lead the team.
  • Consistently challenge the status quo and look to improve and innovate to provide the best possible service to our guests and the best environment for our team where they can thrive.
  • Ensure team members are mentored, developed, and grown.
  • Holds the primary responsibility for workplace health and safety and ensures, so far as reasonably practicable, that the health and safety of all team members and any other persons at the Hotel are not put at risk.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with guests as well as ILT Executive, by ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Lead the team in the day-to-day operation of the Hotel according to the budgets set for the maximisation of revenue, accommodation yield and occupancy while also empowering the team to deliver.

Skills/Experience

  • Substantial and successful track record in hotel operations with proven experience in food and beverage outlet management.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience in commercially driving hotel results.
  • Previous hotel leadership experience: Preferably five years or more in a hotel management role.
  • High ability to maintain exceptional business relationships.
  • Experience in managing budgets, revenue proposals and forecasting results.
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate the team to perform and exceed targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
  • Accountable and resilient.
  • Committed to delivering high levels of customer service.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations.
